Potty training twins sounded hard. Living through it? Absolutely feral.

Last week, we were knee-deep in pee, tantrums, and laundry — and I mean literal laundry mountains, even with help. I have a nanny who supports us during the week (thank God), but this was still one of those weeks that broke my brain.

By Day 4, I was exhausted, discouraged, and questioning everything. So once the worst was over, I gave myself permission to reset — but in the most realistic way possible.

Here’s what I did (and didn’t do) to feel somewhat human again.

What I Prioritized

A grocery bag on the counter or food prep with toddlers nearby (not aesthetic, just real)

The bare-minimum reset list:

Reset tip: You don’t need to overhaul the house. Just clear the one surface that’s making your eye twitch.

What I Let Go Of

Yes, I have help during the week — but mental recovery still requires conscious effort. So here’s what I didn’t pressure myself to do:

Instead, I sat in silence with iced coffee while the twins watched Ms. Rachel on YouTube. No guilt. Just survival.

Sometimes letting go is the most productive thing you can do.

The One Thing That Helped

I did a short reset workout from my Hot Mess Strong Mom plan — nothing intense, just 25-ish minutes to shake off the fog and remind myself I’m still in here somewhere.
Even when things feel messy, I can move. And that’s enough.

Closing

If you’re coming off a rough week — potty training, parenting, or just life in general — this is your reminder that your version of a reset is valid.
You don’t need to deep clean your house or reinvent your routine. You just need one tiny shift to feel like yourself again.
